Today we had the pleasure of hosting a group of 20 students from the Journalism Club of III High School in Wołomin at our Laboratory! 🚀
It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase what media studies research looks like. The group had the chance to tour our lab, take a close look at the modern equipment used in research, and learn how we carry out scientific projects. We presented not only the theory, but also the practical aspects of our work, which are an integral part of every research project.
Biometric, social, and media research within reach
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to get to know our research methods, including those related to media analysis, and to dive into the field of biometric and social research. One of the highlights was a discussion about triangulation – a unique method of combining different data sources to achieve the most accurate results. Thanks to this, the students were able to see the wide range of tools we use to analyze modern media and their impact on society.
Project “Creation of Promotional Materials”
All these activities are part of our ongoing project: “Creation of promotional materials and preparation of a blog dedicated to presenting and promoting selected scientific projects carried out by the team at the Media Research Laboratory of the University of Warsaw.” This project is funded under the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” program and Action III.3.2 “Promotion of scientific research.” It is important to us that our research is accessible to a wider audience, and the students' visit was a perfect opportunity to share this knowledge with young, future journalists and researchers.
Gratitude for an inspiring visit
We are very grateful to the students from III High School in Wołomin for their engagement and the questions that demonstrated their strong interest in topics related to science and media. We are delighted we could share our passion and knowledge, as well as inspire them to further explore the world of media research. Thank you for your visit, and we hope to meet again in the future!
