Students from Secondary Schools Visit LBM Again

In April, we concluded a series of visits to the Media Research Laboratory at the University of Warsaw, hosting the final group of participants in the Media Knowledge Olympiad. It was an intense and inspiring time that allowed the participants to gain a deeper understanding of media studies.

During the meeting, we discussed how media are researched "from the inside" and explained why media studies is more than just watching television with a notebook in hand. The participants had the opportunity to learn the secrets of a media researcher’s work, discover how modern technologies can support social research, and understand why media analysis is crucial in today’s world.

We showed our research facilities, introduced the guests to the projects being carried out in our laboratory, and presented the research methods we use in our work. However, the most important part was that we had the chance to engage in discussions with individuals who truly want to expand their knowledge and understand how media shape our reality.

The entire visit was part of a project promoting research at the Media Research Laboratory at the University of Warsaw: "Creation of promotional materials and preparation of a blog dedicated to presenting and promoting selected scientific projects conducted by the LBM UW team." This project is part of the "Excellence Initiative – Research University" program (Action III.3.2 "Promotion of scientific research").

We thank you for the five inspiring meetings – it was intense, motivating, and will certainly remain in our memory as an important moment in the development of young media science enthusiasts!
